There are four types of Association membership, Regular, Associate, Legacy and Sponsored.

  • Regular Membership may be granted to individuals who have served or are serving as a "Combat Swimmer" in the United States Navy. This includes Naval Combat Demolition Units, Scouts and Raiders, OSS Maritime, Underwater Demolition Teams, SEAL Delivery Vehicle Teams and SEAL Teams.
  • Associate Membership may be granted to individuals who have served or are serving in the Naval Special Warfare Community, but do not meet the eligibility requirements for regular membership. This includes individuals who are or have been assigned to "the Teams"; Naval Special Warfare commands, task groups/units/elements; Special Boat commands; mobile support teams or other military organizations/staffs that work with "the Teams".
  • Legacy Membership may be granted to individuals who are an immediate family member of a Frogman/SEAL or Combatant Crewman, living or deceased.
  • Sponsored Membership may be granted to individuals who have not served in the Naval Special Warfare Community, but who have contributed or possess the potential to make significant contributions to the Naval Special Warfare Community. Sponsored members require Regular member sponsorship and approval by the Board of Directors. The sponsoring Regular member must have current membership.
Qualifications for each type of membership will be verified by the Association. The inability to verify the individuals eligibility will result in denial of the application.

Membership Benefits

Membership benefits include the quarterly editions of The BLAST, Journal of Navy Frogmen, an annual Directory of Members, free admission to many events at both the East and West Coast UDT-SEAL Association Annual Reunions, and access to purchasing merchandise at the UDT-SEAL SEAL Store. In addition, dependents of members whose membership has been in good standing for three prior consecutive years to the year of application, may be eligible for the UDT-SEAL Scholarship program.

Membership Period

Association Membership is for the calendar year, January 1 through December 31. New annual members joining after 1 October of the current year will receive memberships valid for the following calendar year.

Membership Dues

Annual membership is $50.00. Lifetime membership is $800. An eight month credit card payment plan is also available. Cash, check, Visa and Mastercard are accepted. A $5.00 administrative fee is charged for renewals and new applications received at the Reunions. A $25.00 free will be charged for all returned checks.
